Prevalence of cystic echinococcosis in slaughtered cattle in Afyonkarahisar.

This study was carried out in 1001 cattle that were slaughtered in 3 abattoirs in the Afyonkarahisar district of western Turkey. Abattoirs were visited twice a week and internal organs of the cattle were examined for cystic echinococcosis (CE). The number of organs discarded because of CE was recorded.
